So it was that something borked? Wow! I figured it was either you folks were fixing bugs, testing new features, or something borked. I bet that raised a few eyebrows. Good job for fixing it so fast, and thank you for letting us know what happened. I hope every at CCP is in good spirits now, no fist fights or spilled beer. 
It was a hardware failure, and I am happy to report that all services (including EVE Gate) are now back online.
P.S. It's a bit too early here, so no beer was spilt.

The EVE Gate and API errors reported above have just been resolved (09:34 UTC). If you are still experiencing them, please let us know.

It took some time to make it behave, but EVE Store is now up and running. Please let me know if you have any problems accessing it.
